New features in 8.22.0

The following are the new features available with the Xprotect version 8.22.0 released during October, 2021:

  • Maintaining the current functionality, the new version has an enhancement in the user experience while you are working with the Application Control Rules. The user-friendly and concise UI allows you to easily create and edit Whitelists, Backlists and RuleRings.
  • To address issues associated with Agent bandwidth and event flooding DB, Xprotect now has the following options that you can either enable or disable based on your use case:
    • Processes
    • Alerts
    • Trust
  • Temporary Policy Settings enhancements:
    • Temporary Policy Settings can now be applied to individual hosts for up to a time duration of 6 months. After the time window, the settings automatically revert to the inherent policy settings.
    • Temporary Policy Settings now allows you to enable the ‘Enforce’ mode for the Whitelist.
    • You can import any existing policy settings and save them as temporary policy settings.
  • Xprotect agents are now available for:
    • RHEL 7.7, 7.9, 8.0, 8.1, 8.2, 8.3 and 8.4
    • Windows 11 Pro
  • Usability enhancement for multi-select rules in a stack (Application Control) and hosts in the Host page.
  • Admins can now view the users belonging to an AD-Department or an Ad-Group while creating user-based policies.
  • Admins can now select multiple alerts and add them to multiple policies as rules in a unified workflow. This enables the users to best utilize the Summary Alerts page for threat analysis and consequently enhance policies.
